A recently formed association for the flame retardants industry will be exhibiting at NPE at Clariant Corp.'s booth (21059).
The Phosphorus, Inorganic and Nitrogen Flame Retardants Association (Pinfa) represents manufacturers and users of non-halogenated flame retardants.
Pinfa said it aims to improve the environment and health profile of flame retardants and to carry out research relevant to safety and sustainability. The group's product selector has a list of 33 flame retardants.
The Society of Plastics Engineers of Newtown, Conn., hosts Pinfa as a special industry group. Pinfa members get access to trans-Atlantic networks, access to workshops and to working groups addressing key topics. An industry day is planned for the fourth quarter of 2012.
Pinfa began as a European trade association. It was introduced to North America at the Antec 2011 conference in Boston in May.
Shredders featured
Republic Machine Inc. (Booth 7763) will exhibit a modular split-a-part shredder at NPE. The machine features the patented Zoidal cutting system and smart chamber design, which prevents film and fiber wrapping onto the rotor, thus reducing heat and minimizing wear. Easy and safe clean out will be featured.
Republic's Eagle shredder will be on display. The full-featured plastic and wood shredder has a single-piece, solid, forged rotor; bolt-in, replaceable tool holders; and reversible counterknives that can be sharpened.
It also contains a dual-pump, 7.5-horsepower hydraulic system.
