GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. (March 29, 1:50 p.m. ET) — Injection molder Lacks Enterprises Inc. will invest $31.9 million on an expansion near Grand Rapids, with a new plant and additional warehouse space.
Lacks, which specializes in painted and coated plastics, will also create 120 jobs as part of the project, the company and local economic development officials announced in a March 28 news release.
The site in Cascade Township will make parts for the auto and home appliance industries.
Grand Rapids-based Lacks will receive $350,000 in incentives from the Michigan Economic Development Corp. to help finance the expansion. The Cascade Township location was in contention with other possible production sites in Kentucky, South Carolina and Virginia.
