WINCHESTER, VA. (April 11, 3 p.m. ET) — An accident at the Rubbermaid manufacturing plant in Winchester on April 9 is under investigation after it resulted in the death of an employee.
Jack Taylor, a seven-year employee of the plant, died as the result of an accident involving a forklift, according to company spokeswoman Jennifer Schneider. No additional information was released due to the pending investigation with OSHA.
"We are proud of our safety record here at the Winchester facility and we are conducting a full investigation to find out exactly what happened," a statement issued by the company said. "Our thoughts and prayers are with Jack and his family, co-workers and colleagues — he will be greatly missed.”
The plant was shut down on April 10 and counselors have been made available to employees.
