ROCK HILL, S.C. (April 18, 1:40 p.m. ET) — 3D Systems Corp. is expanding its aerospace and medical device business by acquiring Paramount Industries Inc.
Langhorne, Pa.-based Paramount was founded in 1966, and touts itself as among the world's most experienced manufacturers and providers of product development services, including product design and engineering, rapid prototyping, rapid tooling and direct manufacturing.
Terms were not disclosed. Rock Hill-based 3D said in a news release that it plans to integrate Paramount's manufacturing facilities and advanced tooling and assembly operations with 3D's direct manufacturing services.
The news comes two days after 3D printer leaders Stratasys Inc. and Objet Ltd. announced that they have combined to create a giant in that field.
