Wine packaging manufacturer Phillip Schneider GmbH & Co. KG recently purchased Pfefferkorn & Co. GmbH, a German injection molder known for its plastic champagne corks and caps.
Schneider acquired 100 percent of the outstanding shares of Pfefferkorn in the deal.
Schneider, based in Ebernburg, manufactures wine and champagne products such as bottle wire hoods, capsules, screw caps and secco cords — a natural-fiber closure used in the presentation of sparkling wines, vinegar and oils. The company also manufactures machinery and shipping trays, crates and cartons.
Pfefferkorn, based in Simmern, Germany, manufactures wine and champagne bottle closures, along with translucent polystyrene cups, bottle openers and pourers.
Corporate advisory firm Global M&A served as financial adviser for the acquisition.
