MENOMINEE FALLS, WIS. (May 31, 2:20 p.m. ET) — Toolmaker Dynamic Tool & Design Inc. is adding 17,000 square feet to its plant to improve its part sampling and customer service operations.
The Menominee Falls company is responding to increased demand for it to test tools, said President John Lau, and it wants a better location to do that work while also providing customers with increased confidentiality for new projects.
Dynamic has five presses, including a newly installed, 650-ton Krauss-Maffei press. Currently it operates those presses alongside its toolmaking equipment.
The addition, which should be completed by the end of September, will provide better space to run those presses. Dynamic will also be able to partition off the machines for privacy.
“We're being asked to do a lot more full [mold] qualifications, and we're shipping those molds not only to our region, but nationally and internationally,” Lau said.
Dynamic's tools are running at sites in North America, Europe and China, he said. The expanding business base has led to increased emphasis for the toolmaker in full turnkey services — even running limited production with full automation — which also leads to the need for better customer service space.
If business continues to grow as expected, the company could add 10-15 employees during the coming years, he said.
