TORONTO (June 18, 3:30 p.m. ET) — Covertech Fabricating Inc. has acquired Seville Packaging Inc., a flexible packaging converter based in Mississauga, Ontario.
Details of the acquisition were not immediately available.
Seville manufactures specialty consumer and industrial packaging — including stand-up and re-sealable zipper pouches, laminated roll stock, poly bags, poly woven bags, and solventless lamination materials — for a variety of markets.
According to the company's website, Seville has annual sales of $20 million.
The acquisition complements Covertech's growth strategy and its core film extrusion business. It will also allow Seville to become a more efficient, highly competitive business, according to a letter sent to customers June 14.
Seville will now do business as Seville Plastics Inc. The company will continue to operate at its Mississauga plant.
Covertech, based about 12 miles from Mississauga in Toronto, manufactures co-extruded and monolayer films for a variety of markets.
Its 107,000 square foot plant and headquarters also houses the company's protective packaging division — which makes, among other things, bubble roll stock, bubble pouches, mailers, and specialty laminated products — and its reflective insulation division, rFoil.
