BUENOS AIRES (June 19, 1:15 p.m. ET) — Italian auxiliary equipment supplier Piovan and its Brazilian subsidiary introduced new and renewed chiller and dosing equipment for Latin America on the first day of Argenplás.
A producer of periphery equipment like dryers, refrigeration units, vacuum conveyer systems and more, Piovan introduced to the Argentine market its new Lybra G dosing unit, which is configured for continuous weight-loss gravimetric or volumetric operation with one to two dosing stations, and is said to offer a 20 percent savings on masterbatch accuracy.
“It's so accurate you can reduce the variations in dosing down to 0.1 percent,” said Ricardo Prado Santos, vice president of Piovan do Brasil. “It's our most accurate dosing unit yet.”
The Lybra units can dose masterbatch, additives and regrind into the plastification screw, with a range of 10 grams per hour to 170 kilograms per hour.
Piovan also debuted a renewed line of mini-chiller that Prado Santos says is more narrow, for better use beside a press or other machinery. With operating capacity ranging from 3,000-25,500 kcal/hour, the mini-chiller is adaptable for user needs, features stainless steel pumps and a “marked improvement” in energy usage, he said.
The company also introduced to Latin American buyers a larger chiller with 400,000 kcal per hour capacity, which is being marketed for a variety of applications like chemical, pharmaceutical and food packaging.
Argenplás is taking place June 18-22 in Buenos Aires.
