Covertech Fabricating Inc. has acquired Seville Packaging Inc., a flexible packaging converter in Mississauga, Ontario.
Details of the acquisition were not available by deadline.
Seville makes specialty consumer and industrial packaging for a variety of markets including stand-up and resealable zipper pouches, laminated roll stock, poly bags, poly woven bags and solventless lamination materials.
According to the company's website, Seville has annual sales of $20 million.
The acquisition complements Covertech's growth plan and its core film extrusion business. It will also allow Seville to become a more-efficient, competitive business, according to a letter sent to customers June 14.
Seville will now do business as Seville Plastics Inc. The company will continue to operate at its Mississauga plant.
Covertech, based about 12 miles from Mississauga in Toronto, manufactures coextruded and monolayer films.
Its 107,000-square-foot headquarters plant also houses the firm's protective packaging division — which makes bubble roll stock, pouches, mailers and specialty laminated products — and its reflective insulation unit, rFoil.
