Buss AG rolled out its four-flight MX 30 laboratory kneader at four international trade shows: NPE2012 in Orlando, Fla., Chinaplas in Shanghai, Plast in Milan, Italy, and WIRE in Düsseldorf, Germany.
Show visitors viewed the kneader with its barrel assembly in the open position. The low screw speed allows a clear view of the four-flight kneader, specifically the dual rotational and oscillating motion of the screw and its combined axial and transverse mixing action.
The laboratory kneader has a 30-millileter-diameter screw. It is rated for outputs of 11-55 pounds, with a maximum screw speed of 800 revolutions per minute.
Like the larger MX series of machines, the MX 30 is well-suited to compound heat- and shear-sensitive polymers and the production of highly filled materials.
Buss is based in Pratteln, Switzerland.
