Milacron LLC has expanded its TP series of parallel twin-screw extruders with a smaller machine, the TP75, which has a screw diameter of 75 millimeters.
TP extruders are designed to extrude PVC pipe. They provide both high torque and high throughput. The TP75 extrudes smaller products, while still offering minimal screw deflection.
“Previously, smaller pipe and profile applications would have required a conical twin-screw machine,” said Mike Puhalla, general manger of global extrusion for the Cincinnati-based machinery manufacturer. “Now, PVC, wood-plastic composites and other materials can be processed on this smaller parallel twin screw.”
Features of the TP75 include air- and oil-cooled barrels, with optional gearbox oil quality monitoring and high-wear package with a tungsten screw and barrel. Also available: a longer length-to-diameter ratio of 33:1 and a Torque Master gearbox with internal oil cooling.
