PARIS (July 5, 10:40 a.m. ET) — Polymer formulations firm Axson Group has acquired epoxy technology company Nanoledge for an undisclosed price.
Paris-based Axson is buying Nanoledge from Telesystem, a media and technology investor firm based in Montreal. In a July 3 news release, officials said that Nanoledge has significantly improved composite material performance through its proprietary nanoblending technologies.
In nanoblending, base resins are combined with carbon nanotubes or other nanoparticles and chemical additives to target specific performance improvements.
Axson Chairman and CEO Charles Churet said that Nanoledge's technology is “an innovation enabler” that will be a key element to Axson's development in new expanding markets.
Axson Group was formed in 2001 when Axson Technologies SAS linked up with polymer formulators Revocoat SAS and BS Coatings SAS, which had merged in 2009.
