BIRMINGHAM, MICH. (July 19, 1:15 p.m. ET) — DSM Engineering Plastics plans to move its customer service operations from Evansville, Ind. to its North American headquarters in Birmingham, Mich.
The move should be complete by mid-August, the company said July 19. The company is a unit of Dutch plastics and chemicals firm Royal DSM. Manufacturing operations in Evansville will not be affected.
In a news release, DSM executive Scott Warren said that after the move, customer service “will be centrally located and better positioned to provide improved collaboration” with the firm's account management team. Warren serves as DSM EP's vice president of supply chain and purchasing.
DSM EP already had based its sales and marketing functions in Birmingham. Sales and marketing vice-president Bob Akins said in the release that locating that group with customer service “will strengthen the support [DSM] delivers to our customers.”
DSM EP ranks as one of North America's 30 largest makers of compounds and concentrates, producing compounds based on a variety if engineering resins in Evansville.
