Engel Holding GmbH's new Victory Spex press allows the use of large molds with moderate clamping forces, faster tool change and barrier-free access for robots, thanks to a tie-barless design.
Engel's Ecodrive uses about 70 percent less energy than a standard hydraulic machine — and similar to fully electric injection presses — the company said.
A three-point platen guide with double-sided precision guidance and a central clamping unit, means the Victory Spex has excellent platen parallelism, at rest and in motion, the company said. Construction of the frame prevents the clamping unit from flexing. The press comes in clamping forces from 55-560 tons.
Engel is based in Schwertberg, Austria. The company's U.S. operation, Engel Machinery Inc., is in York, Pa.
