KraussMaffei Berstorff has sold two profile extrusion lines to Interplast Ltd. in Ghana, a major PVC pipe maker in West Africa.
Interplast will use the two extrusion lines, in a twin-strand process, to produce PCV wall and ceiling panels. The two conical twin-screw KMDDD 63 K/P extruders will begin operating in September.
The relationship between KraussMaffei Berstorff and Interplast began in 2011 as the company ordered a corrugated pipe extrusion line, a profile extrusion line and a raw material pelletizing system.
“We will configure the (panel-making) system specially for Interplast to meet the market requirements in Africa,” said Andreas Kessler, general sales manager at KraussMaffei Berstorff in Munich.
The company's U.S. unit, Krauss-Maffei Corp., is in Florence, Ky.
