ALBANY, N.Y. (Aug. 6, 3:15 p.m. ET) — The New York Department of Environmental Conservation has amended to the permit of JBI Inc. to double the operations of its plastic-to-oil facility in Niagara Falls, N.Y., the company announced.
Ontario-based JBI is now permitted to process 4,000 pounds of plastic feedstock per machine, per hour, up from a previous limit of 2,000 pounds per hour.
“I'm grateful to the NYSDEC for their continued support of the [plastic-to-oil] technology,” said John Bordynuik, the company's founder in a statement. “This is a significant step in the evolution of the [plastic-to-oil] technology and can support future permitting processes with our commercial deployment.”
