Single Temperiertechnik GmbH of Hochdorf, Germany, which makes temperature control and cooling systems, will introduce new features of its energy-efficient ATT (alternating temperature technology) at Composites Europe 2012.
The trade show runs Oct. 9-11 in Düsseldorf, Germany. The ATT has increased versatility to produce composite parts that require fast temperature changes. Examples include user-defined time setting for activating several valve modules, and the free selection of maximum or minimum temperatures per mold section. This can optimize the correct energy consumption for the temperature alternation process.
To develop the new features, Single did research in cooperation with Steinbeis Innovationationszentrum Kunststofftechnik of Allen University in Germany.
Within seconds, ATT switches between two circuits with cooling fluids of different temperatures and actively heats or cools the mold.
