Maag Pump Systems AG will unveil a twin-outlet version of its Extrex gear pump, at the Fakuma 2012 trade show in Friedrichshafen, Germany, Oct. 16-20, after a successful launch at a major European customer.
Processes such as foaming and coextrusion to extrude pipe and profiles often use multiple die assemblies. These complex setups require very high pressure levels and constant throughput rates during extrusion.
The new Extrex GDP series allows companies to use only one extruder to feed two die assemblies with a constant flow. Using a combination of a single inlet and two outlets, an extrusion line with Maag's new pump can run two completely different die head assemblies, with separate throughput and pressure ratings.
Maag Pump Systems is based in Oberglatt, Switzerland. It's U.S. operation, Maag Automatik Inc., is in Charlotte, N.C.
