WESTLAKE, OHIO (Sept. 19, 1:30 p.m. ET) — Jeff Applegate of Blackwell Plastics Inc. knows firsthand that collaboration can be an effective tool for plastics companies that want to tackle the medical-device market.
Hear Applegate discuss the cross-collaborative process in this video.
At the recent Plastics in Medical Devices 2012 conference in Westlake, Applegate talked about finding innovation through the cross-collaboration process. President of Blackwell since 2003, Applegate gave examples of his firm's work with area hospital and medical firms to find unique and successful approaches to medical-device solutions.
Applegate and Blackwell — a Houston-based injection molder and extruder of engineered thermoplastics — had collaborated with customers, suppliers and competitors in conventional ways such as outsourcing agreements, social media or being active in trade groups like the Society of Plastics Engineers and Manufacturers Association for Plastics Processors.
