Sartomer USA LLC is offering a new liquid coagent that shortens cure times and improves processability of peroxide-cured elastomers compared to conventional coagents such as triallyl cyanurate.
SR523 improves properties for elastomers, plastics and rubbers used to make building profiles, injection molded items, hoses, wire and cable insulation, O-rings and gaskets. The Exton, Pa., firm claims the coagent gives better rate and state of cure and helps processing of compounds by lowering mixing torque.
Sartomer claims other benefits such as higher tensile modulus and high resistance to scorch. Unlike triallyl cyanurate, SR523 remains a liquid at ambient temperature, not a solid.
