Ticona and adhesive maker Delo have developed adhesives technology to improve bonding in small, consumer electronics products like cellular telephones.
Ticona's Florence, Ky., office reports new adhesives are available to withstand temperatures of 500 degrees F. during soldering processes for printed circuit boards and other parts.
Delo of Windach, Germany, has invented new adhesives for Ticona's Vectra LCP liquid crystal polymer to stick to ceramic boards during vigorous processing.
Ticona claims Vectra LCP is well suited for small components because of its high flow, low warpage and inherent flame retardancy.
“Vectra LCP delivers the properties that permit further successful development of the miniaturization of electrical equipment,” states Monika Taut of Ticona's market development department.
