Japanese injection press maker Sodick Plustech Co. Ltd. is bringing its GA, “Global Spec” injection press to the U.S. market, in clamping force sizes of 50, 100 and 150 tons.
The GA machine incorporates machine specifications developed for South Korea and China, giving a high-end precision machine at general-purpose pricing.
Precision Medical Products Inc. of Denver, Pa., has purchased one of the Sodick machines. Specialized Precision Molding of Shrewsbury, Pa., which was acquired by PMP in 2002, was the first molding shop on the East Coast to invest in the Sodick V-Line technology, in 1999. Now PMP and SPM have six Sodicks, ranging from 40-180 tons.
