DME Co. has introduced a hot runner gate and a line of keyed ejector pins, called EXK, in response to customer demand for a wider range of sizes.
The Zenith valve gate hot runner system helps molders maintain a perfectly flat thermal profile. It provides better thermal heat profiles in the nozzle and tip, where uniform heat is needed to prevent hot spots in the flow channel, according to DME. The company also optimized the supply chain and logistics to reduce cost and cut lead times.
The Zenith is available as a hydraulic or pneumatic hot half. The line also offers front- and rear-loaded nozzle heater options. It works with a wide range of materials, especially amorphous and semi-crystalline polymers.
DME's overall keyed pins line, including its existing THXK keyed pins, is now doubled in size and has lengths up to 25 inches, for molders using thick plates.
Keyed pins are designed to prevent rotation during the injection molding process. That eliminates damage to molded parts or even to the mold base itself.
“The pre-keyed pins eliminate the need for secondary machining, saving customers time and expense,” said John Harding, DME's manager of global sourcing. “Many customers have been requesting pins that can be used in thicker plates, and we've responded with new sizes.”
DME is based in Madison Heights, Mich.
