VANTAA, FINLAND (Jan. 3, 11:10 a.m. ET) — Uponor Oyj is relocating its head office to new premises in Vantaa. According to the company, the facility is a low-energy building designed to combat climate change.
“We want to take sustainable development and climate change seriously,” said CEO Jyri Luomakoski. “This is a way to walk the talk and demonstrate our commitment. We have participated in the planning of our new offices, ensuring that they represent state-of-the-art technology.”
The building complex, which has been awarded Breeam certification, includes under-floor cooling, powered by geothermal energy.
“I would like to thank the developer, NCC, for their cooperation and open-mindedness. If the construction industry wants to take the quantum leap towards truly sustainable buildings, a fresh approach and willingness to adopt new concepts are needed,” Luomakoski explained.
