SCOTTSDALE, ARIZ. -- Providien LLC combined two divisions -- injection molder Plastics Engineering & Development Inc. and turn-key contract manufacturer Integra Biotechnical -- under the banner of Integra Biotechnical LLC.
PEDI in Carlsbad, Calif., now operates as Integra Carlsbad. Providien acquired PEDI in 2010. Integra Carlsbad operates 28 injection molding machines of 18-500 tons and provides automated assembly services.
The Integra operations, which Providien acquired in 2011, include a Tijuana, Mexico, manufacturing facility with a Class 8 clean room and a Vista, Calif., warehousing and logistics facility.
Jeff Goble, Providien president and CEO, said the combination facilitates a more integrated service bringing together product development, material procurement, injection molding, assembly, packaging and sterilization management.
Separately, Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Providien has hired Dave Mabie as vice president of national accounts. Mabie has two decades of experience in the life sciences industry and business knowledge about the contract manufacturing of Class II disposable and Class III implantable medical devices.
