Are you as tired of the snow and cold as I am? Here in Akron, Ohio, the weather has been pretty brutal for the past week, so let's take our mind off the sub-freezing temperatures by talking about golf.
The reason: Lunenburg, Mass.-based compounder S&E Specialty Polymers LLC announced this week that it will sponsor a charity golf tournament on July 15 at the Sterling National Country Club in Sterling, Mass., in support of Life is good Playmakers, the nonprofit action arm of the Life is Good Corp.
The tournament will be called "Play Fore Playmakers," and all profits from registrations, donations and sponsorships will be donated directly to the Playmakers organization.
Life is good Playmakers is a nonprofit organization whose work is dedicated to helping kids overcome poverty, violence, and illness. It provides play-based training, support, and resources to teachers, social workers, therapists, and hospital workers.
"We couldn't be more excited to sponsor a tournament that will support Life is Good Playmakers, an organization that does amazing things," said Duane Shooltz, President & COO of S&E Specialty Polymers.
"We saw a chance and an opportunity to make a positive impact on children's lives in our community and we just couldn't pass it up. The golf tournament will be a fun, great day at a beautiful golf course with proceeds all being donated to a worthy cause."

"It's January, but many of us here in New England are already thinking of warm spring and summer days ahead," said Munsey. "This tournament is designed to be fun, and we encourage golfers of all skill levels to attend."
