MENDON, MICH. -- International Automotive Components Group will invest $5.1 million to expand its Mendon, Mich., facility to keep up with new business orders.
The work will include a 30,000-square-foot addition, new equipment and more than 80 new jobs.
The Mendon site has injection molding, foam-in-place production for interior trim, insert molding, in-mold decorating and assembly for instrument panels, hard trim and headliners, said spokesman David Ladd.
The company recently won a bid to produce center consoles and other interior trim parts for General Motors Co.'s full-sized trucks along with key parts for other automakers.
The expansion will take place during the next two years, Ladd said.
IAC is seeking a tax abatement from local officials to help finance the project.
