TAMPA, FLA. — Hoffer Plastics Corp., a custom molder in South Elgin, Ill., has won Plastics News' Processor of the Year Award.
Plastics News presented the award at a evening reception Tuesday, March 5 at its Executive Forum 2013 in Tampa.
Hoffer won the award over other finalists Rodon Group LLC, a custom molder in Hatfield, Pa., and DeKalb Molded Plastics Co., a structural foam molder in Butler, Ind.
Hoffer generated 2012 sales of $75 million, from markets such as packaging, commercial and industrial, automotive and appliance. The company employs 350 people and runs 110 injection molding presses, ranging in clamping force from 35-600 tons.
In Tampa, President William Hoffer accepted the award.

Plastics News also named winners of three PN Excellence Awards during the March 5 reception. PN Excellence Winners are:
- Plastic Molding Technology, a custom injection molder in El Paso, Texas, won the award for Customer Relations.
- DeKalb Molded Plastics picked up the award for Employee Relations.
- Rodon Group won for Industry and Public Service.
