CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Otto Environmental Systems North America Inc. will invest $7 million to expand its production in Charlotte, adding new equipment and 32 jobs.
Otto injection molds products primarily for the waste and recycling industries, including trash carts, dumpsters and bins. It also makes battery trays for the auto industry.
It did not immediately provide specific plans for its expansion.
The company announced the work in a March 6 news release, noting that it considered expansions at other locations before settling on the Charlotte site. The company is based in Charlotte but also has a second manufacturing site in Eloy, Ariz.
The state of North Carolina has pledged to provide Otto with a performance-based grant worth $48,000 through its One North Carolina Fund to help finance the project.
