AKRON, OHIO — The chief operating officer of Myers Industries Inc. is leaving the company "to pursue another opportunity," the Akron-based manufacturer of plastic and rubber products said in a regulatory filing.
Last Thursday, March 14, David Knowles notified Myers that he would resign as executive vice president and COO effective March 22, according to the filing.
"Mr. Knowles departs the company to pursue another opportunity, and his resignation is not due to a disagreement with the company on any matter relating to the company's operations, policies or practices," Myers wrote in the short filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The filing did not state where Knowles was going.
Myers' website indicates Knowles, 51, joined the company as executive vice president and COO in June 2009. He previously was president and CEO of Aristech Acrylics LLC, a manufacturer of continuously cast acrylic sheet and solid surface products used in bathtubs, hot tubs, signage and countertops.
