FREILASSING, GERMANY — Brückner Group subsidiary Kiefel GmbH is providing machines and tools to produce doors for the new Mercedes C-Class in a deal worth several million dollars.
Mercedes-Benz and JCI are using Kiefel technology for foil-laminate finishing, and for the subsequent procedures of edge-folding and hot-riveting.
"Mercedes, working in cooperation with its Tier 1 Supplier JCI, is thus the latest major car manufacturer to opt, in the last few months, for our high-tech approach to – and valuable experience in – the production of interior-trim components," said Keifel CEO Thomas J Halletz.
Mercedes –Benz is building the car in the United States, South Africa, China and the Czech Republic, and it will be available on the market next year.
