MUNICH, GERMANY — German machine maker KraussMaffei today celebrated its 175th anniversary -- and while reflecting on its history said it looked forward to the challenges of the future.
Founded in Munich — where it remains headquartered to this day — on March, 20, 1838, the group could "proudly look back" on more than a century and a half of leadership in innovative mechanical engineering, said group chief executive Jan Siebert.
The group enjoyed a strong reputation within the industry "for the high quality and performance of the machines and systems from its three brands, KraussMaffei, KraussMaffei Berstoff and Netstal", Siebert said.
"We are also renowned for our high level of expertise in technology, processes and applications. That makes us the most valued partner worldwide at the side of our customers," he said.
This, plus the high level of motivation and commitment of the group's employees, meant the company would always find the best solutions for its customers, he added.
Looking ahead the group was "well equipped to meet the challenges of the future" and increase its presence in growth markets, including the Bric — Brazil, Russia, India and China — territories.
