VESTAL, N.Y. -- A truck driver was killed after being struck by a forklift during the loading of pipe onto his truck on March 22 at National Pipe & Plastics Inc.
"Our condolences and sympathies go out to everyone involved," said President David Culbertson.
The incident occurred about 4:30 p.m., according to Culbertson. He said all pedestrian traffic is warned to keep away from the loading area during the loading operation, and that this was the first fatal accident at the plant in 40 years.
Authorities have not revealed the name of the driver.
The incident is being investigated by local police and Occupational Safety and Health Association officials.
