DETROIT -- Interior assembly supplier Dakkota Integrated Systems LLC, a joint venture between Wayne, Mich.-based Rush Group LLC and Magna International Inc., is moving its corporate headquarters to Southeast Michigan from Holt, Mich., which is near Lansing.
Dakkota is moving 60 corporate jobs to a nearly 21,000-square-foot office space in Genoa Township, which is near Brighton, Mich.
The move puts the supplier closer to its customers in the metro Detroit area, said John Mozena, senior public relations executive at Mort Crim Communications and spokesman for Rush Group.
More than 400 Dakkota employees will remain at its plants and offices in Holt and Lansing, he said.
Dakkota, formed in 2001, assembles and manufactures cockpits, door panel assemblies, overhead systems, complete floor consoles and cargo systems in Lansing for Ford Motor Co. and General Motors Co.'s Lansing-Grand River plant.
Dakkota also has manufacturing operations in Flat Rock and Rochester, Mich., as well as in Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, and Ontario.
