WELLSBURG, W.VA. — Safety products maker Eagle Manufacturing Co. is constructing a 40,000-square-foot facility, the first phase of an expansion that will make space for additional molding.
Eagle bought a former industrial site adjacent to its property in Wellsburg in 2012 and began construction this spring on a building that will house the company's warehouse and distribution center, said President Jim Eddy in an April 5 phone interview.
Once that warehouse site opens, the Wellsburg company will have more space for manufacturing at its current facility. About half of its operations are in plastics, with blow molding, injection molding and structural foam molding of safety products such as plastic drums, barricades and column protectors.
The new building will have high bays to accommodate future production, Eddy said. The second and third phases of the expansion call for another 60,000 square feet at the new building as business expands.
