SCHWERIN, GERMANY — Caps and closures manufacturer Procap Group has purchased Schoeller Cap Systems of Schwerin. The new enterprise, named Procap Schwerin, is Procap's first manufacturing presence in Germany.
Procap says the acquisition will also expand its customer base in the beverage industry.
Currently, SCS only makes closures for the drink industry. The combined company will allow for a broader product range and the development of new and innovative offerings.
The facility's location in Northern Germany also supports Procap's plans to expand in Scandinavia and Poland.
SCS, a medium-sized company with 12 million euros in sales, has 40 employees, all of whom will remain with the company.
Procap, based in Wiltz, Luxembourg, has industrial sites in Belgium, Hungary, Luxembourg, France, Spain and Ireland. The company makes caps and closures for the food and beverage, pharmacy, cosmetic and chemicals markets.
