Penn State Erie will install a MuCell system on a 120-ton molding machine at its Plastics Engineering Lab in Erie, Pa.
Undergraduate students in the college's Plastics Engineering Technology program will receive MuCell process training and conduct research projects using MuCell.
Trexel Inc. of Wilmington, Mass., is providing the MuCell system, working with faculty member Brad Johnson.
The Penn State Erie plastics lab has 10 injection presses, ranging in clamping force from 11-200 tons.
Trexel also plans to participate in Pen State Erie's Injection Molding and Emerging Technologies Conference, May 22-23, and host one of the three-hour afternoon tutorials.
