TMI LLC says it has solved a vexing problem for PVC film -- the tendency for the tacky film to stick to itself.
TMI, based in Pittsburgh, Pa., has developed a low-cohesion PVC formula to make it easy to separate, fold and unfold PVC film.
PVC film's stickiness is useful in applications like seals on a strip door, but it can be problematic when manufacturing entails constant folding, unrolling and separation. TMI, a producer and extruder of PVC, modified its chemistry of premium grade film to improve workability.
"It's much easier to use, easier to roll, unroll and unfold," claims TMI customizer John Stover in a news release.
Additional benefits of the new formulation are fire-rated standards and UV stabilization for outdoor exposure.
