LITTLE ROCK, ARK., — Delta Plastics of the South LLC, a manufacturer of flexible agricultural tubing and accessories, has acquired certain assets of Continental Products Inc.
Delta, based in Little Rock, makes extruded polyethylene lay-flat pipes used to irrigate furrowed and non-furrowed fields. The company also operates a recycling program — farmers can return the used tubing to authorized collection sites where Delta will reclaim and recycle it into a post-consumer resin used in various industries.
The company says it operates more than 200 free drop-off sites and reclaims more than 100 million pounds of material annually.
Continental, based in Mexico, Mo., makes bags and film, including newspaper and phonebook delivery bags, ice packaging and lawn and garden packaging. It also offers a line of packaging that contains a minimum of 20 percent post-consumer recycled content.
Details of the acquisition were not disclosed. Delta officials did not immediately return calls on April 19.
