Industrial laser manufacturer Trumpf Group of Ditzingen, Germany, held a March 6 grand opening at its laser development facility in Schramberg-Sulgen, Germany. About 250 guests attended.
Trumpf spend 13.5 million euros ($17.3 million) to build the 66,700-square-foot building.
“Schramberg is not only the cradle of the German laser industry. Today it is one of the world's leaders in laser technology development and production,” said Peter Leibinger, vice chairman of Trumpf Group's managing board, speaking at the opening ceremony.
Also addressing the group was Professor Reinhart Poprawe, director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology in Aachen, Germany.
The new Trumpf building in Schramberg brings all operations there under one roof. In the past, the company occupied several buildings at the site.
