Eastman Chemical Co. has expanded its lineup of plasticizers geared for sensitive applications such as medical devices, toys, childcare products and food-contact items.
Eastman 168 SG, a sensitive non-phthalate grade, offers a good balance of price and efficiency, according to the Kingsport, Tenn., firm. Eastman claims the new plasticizer can be used as an alternative to DEHP and TOTM and that it is more efficient than other commercially available non=phthalate products. Eastman claims 168G has benign toxicological and regulatory profiles.
“For the most sensitive applications, formulators need assurance of the high purity that Eastman 168SG offers,” states Jon Woods, plasticizers business director, in a news release.
