ORLANDO, FLA. – Italian extrusion equipment supplier Grupo Colines srl is seeing interest in its Bubble Guard technology for making coextruded polypropylene sheet with in-line lamination.
The technology has been on the market since 2007, and the company has already sold about 10 lines, said Lorenzo Paggi, sales manager for the Novara, Italy-based company, at the ICE USA trade show in Orlando.
The technology can make sheet with unique textures. Processors are using the equipment to make sheet for end markets including appliances, point-of-purchase displays, construction and automotive.
“The printability is very interesting for people who are doing polypropylene sheet. It is similar to PVC,” Paggi said.
The company sells a wide variety of film and sheet manufacturing equipment, including big lines for making cast PP film, and smaller lines for polyethylene stretch film. Paggi said the company is making its reputation on having friendly and professional service, and energy-saving equipment.
“We are always trying to reduce the energy usage of our lines,” he said. “We know what is necessary to complete in the market.”
