AHMEDABAD, INDIA — Ferromatik Milacron India Pvt. Ltd. has shipped its 7,501 injection press — a 1,300-ton Maxima Servo — from its Ahmedabad facility.
The company declined to name the customer, but said in a telephone interview with Plastics News that it was to a client in west Africa.
Ferromatik Milacron is growing around 20 percent annually. It sold 983 injection molding machines in 2011, 1,009 in 2012, and is targeting 1,200 in 2013.
About 25 percent of the output is exported, with the rest sold to molders in India. The company had 2012 sales of 4,400 million Indian rupees ($80 million).
The company has capacity to manufacture about 2,000 machines annually at its Gujarat plant, which started production in January 1996. Customers include BorgWarner, Faurecia, IAC, Minda, Mann+Hummel, Manjushree and Finolex.
