ATTLEBORO, MASS. — Syntactic foam maker CMT Materials Inc. will open a location in the Netherlands on Sept. 1.
The site will stock inventory and will offer cut-to-size services as well, officials with Attleboro, Mass.-based CMT said in a May 4 news release. The new location will offer same-day shipping in Europe and will reduce lead times and shipping costs.
“We recognize that our customers need quick turnaround times form many new thermoforming projects,” general manager Terrence Woldorf said in the release.
CMT's products — including its Hytac-brand line — are used as plug assist materials in thermoforming. The materials — many of which are based on epoxy resins — allow processors to reduce starting gauge and cycle times and to improve material distribution, officials said.
CMT will be promoting its new line of XTL-brand thermoplastic syntactic foams at several upcoming international trade shows, including Chinaplas and K 2013.
