SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL – Italian auxiliary equipment supplier Piovan and its local subsidiary launched a universal productivity and efficiency system for the South American market during the opening day of Feiplastic, the Brazilian trade show formerly named Brasilplast, May 20-24.
A producer of periphery equipment like dryers, refrigeration units, vacuum conveyer systems and more, Piovan debuted for South American import its RYNG universal device system, which measures productivity and efficiency of the feeding line while monitoring in real time the quantity of material transferred from container to hopper.
The system is produced in Italy, and began exports to South America within the last few months, said Ricardo Prado Santos, vice president of Piovan do Brasil.
The company also debuted a demonstration model of its new MDW series gravimetric doser, MDW 150, which features a nominal capacity of up to 150 kilograms per hour. The model fills a gap in Piovan's MDW series with a capacity well-suited to mid-sized producers in Brazil, Prado Santos said. It will be available for delivery in September.
Piovan introduced two new dryer models in its DPA series, DPA10 and DPA30, which should cater to injection molders that need to dry quantities as small as 0.5 kilo to 15 kilos per hour, smaller than previous Piovan models would allow.
"These are great new options for small injectors, because we have not had dryer machines this small in Brazil before," Prado Santos said.
The company plans to increase production capacity in its current Brazilian factory by up to 50 percent this year, particularly in production of chiller, doser and temperature control devices.
Piovan built a new 1,500 square-meter extension building near its São Paulo facility in 2012, and now boasts 5,500 square meters of production space.
