PLYMOUTH, MICH. — Johnson Controls Automotive Seating, an automotive seating and components maker, has won a Manufacturing Leadership 100 (ML100) Award in the Global Value Chain category from Manufacturing Executive, a global association for manufacturing executives.
Johnson Controls won the award for integrating logistics and operational processes across its plants SAP software.
Randall Urban, vice president, IT applications management at Johnson Controls Automotive Seating, said that integrating the company's logistics across its plants, finance and purchasing system, generated benefits.
Among these, customer response times were reduced and operational processes were standardized.
Additionally Johnson Controls increased the amount of individual plant-level information for analysis and improved the accuracy of that information. This made data easier to collect and also made that data more accurate.
