Reifenhäuser GmbH & Co. KG Maschinenfabrik purchased Italian winder manufacturer Nuova Protex srl on June 1, after 25 years of the two companies working together.
Nuova Protex, based in Sumirago, Italy, specializes in take-up winding systems for synthetic fibers such as monofilaments, multifilaments, raffia fiber, flat tape and strapping tape.
The Italian company will operate under the name Reimotec Winding Technology, as part of Reifanhäuser's Reimotec business unit. The move completes the Reimotec product range of monofilament, fibers for artificial turf and strapping tape.
Pino Manieri, managing director of Nuova Protex, will retain his position. A Reifenhäuser spokesman said the company will “not only continue to run Nuova Protex's factory in Sumirago with all of its employees, but is targeting at expanding in order to grow.”
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Reifenhäuser is based in Troisdorf, Germany.
