Soft drinks giant Coca-Cola Enterprises (CCE) has teamed up with supermarket chain Tesco to encourage consumers to do more recycling at home.
An online campaign, which launched today and is entitled "Together We're Making Recycling Count," offers consumers vouchers for Coca-Cola products or Tesco Clubcard points in exchange for pledging to recycle more of their household waste, including plastics.
Consumers will be asked three multiple choice questions before they can pledge and can then monitor the amount of equivalent tonnage volume of waste being recycled.
A prize draw will reward successful participants with exclusive Coke fridge magnets made from recycled PET bottles, an 'eco-fridge' and Tesco vouchers.
Julian Hunt, CCE's UK vice president of public affairs and communications, said: "We know that consumers often positively change behavior, but they need both education and encouragement and this joint campaign is set to do this across the whole of summer 2013."
And together with CCE Tesco was "determined to tackle climate change by helping reduce the carbon emissions from the products we sell", said Rebecca Shelley, the supermarket chain's group corporate affairs director.
The pair's campaign runs from today for 14 weeks.
