The Michigan Economic Development Corp. is working with the Society of Plastics Engineers' Automotive Composites Conference and Exhibition to provide scholarships for both graduate and undergraduate students.
MEDC has backed two $2,000 scholarships for graduate students in plastics since 2007, but this year it is adding another $2,000 scholarship offer extended to students in their junior or senior year of college in addition to graduate students, the MEDC and SPE noted in a June 16 news release.
Students must be pursuing a degree in polymer science, plastics, composites or a related engineering curriculum at a Michigan college or university. The deadline to apply is July 20 and forms are available at the SPE Automotive division website.
The winners will be announced prior to the Sept. 11-13 auto composites conference in Troy, Mich.
