Crain Communications, owner of Plastics News, has announced the launch of a new plastics exhibition and conference to take place next year in the United Kingdom.
The inaugural Plastics Recycling Expo, which will be known as pre2014, will run alongside the Plastics Design & Moulding trade show on June 18-19, 2014, in Telford, England.
Designed specifically for plastics recycling professionals, pre2014 will bring together key players from sectors including recycling, processing and converting, ancillaries and resin producers, plus representatives from local authorities, trade associations and major brand owners.
Steve Crowhurst, managing director of Crain Communications' UK business, said pre was a great opportunity to share knowledge and expertise in what was a growing part of the plastics industry, as well as boosting the message about recycling.
"Recycling is something that everyone knows is crucial for a host of reasons, not least environmental ones. But while there has been a lot of time and effort devoted to dealing with materials such as metal and paper, plastics have been overlooked.
"We believe that pre will bang the drum for plastics recycling in the UK and beyond, celebrate the great things the industry does and remind people that there is more to the material than ocean waste."
